Mindset.
The definition of Mindset is “The established set of attitudes held by someone.”
Your mindset can change from day to day depending on how you’re feeling that day.
Maybe you didnt sleep that well so you’re non-aggressive because you dont have the energy to fight.
Maybe you havent eaten in a while so you’re irritable.
Maybe someone said something to you that made you upset so you’re snippy with everyone else.
Anything can change your mindset…if you let it.
See, you have the ability to control what changes your mindset. You can subdue your hunger or recognize that you’re irritable and be more intentional about controlling it.
Intentionality is defined as “the fact of being deliberate or purposive.”
Being intentional with everything in the day gives you the ability to change what hormones and chemicals are released in your body.
You have the power to control your mindset.
Some days are hard. Some days are harder than every other day. You’re going to have rough days and days that are easy. Everyone does.
The difference is that intentionality is a muscle that needs to be worked. Purposefully changing your mindset is something that is incredibly hard in the beginning but gradually gets easier and easier. You have to work at it.
Do these 3 things throughout your life and you’ll find that you can have control over your mindset in every situation.
Seek out feedback. Feedback is one way that we can allow others to be critical of us so that we can grow. If you seek out feedback, you’re more likely to take the criticism and be able to change. Most people are not self aware and requesting feedback is one way to become more self aware.
Verbally tell yourself what to do. There is a connection between the verbal and the auditory in your own mind. Yes, you can think words but saying them out loud makes them real. Hearing a command makes it easier to follow.
Lie. Every time I’m asked “How are you doing?” I say “Fantastic!” even if the day is going terribly. Manifesting is a real thing. You can change your mindset simply by saying one word.
Actively changing your mindset is something that will take work in the beginning and become natural after a little while. In the long run, you’ll see so many gains from it. You’ll be able to reduce your stress just by intentionally being different.
What is something you struggle to change in your mindset?
